If you're looking for a way to boost your plant-based omega-3 and fiber intake, this chocolate banana chia pudding is a must-try. I wish I'd discovered this recipe sooner – the idea of having a healthy chocolate pudding for breakfast is simply fantastic.

What

    2 tablespoons chia seeds

    1 tablespoon cacao
  • 3
    1 banana
  • 4
    200 milliliters soy milk
  • 5
    1/2 banana for garnish
  • 6
    1 teaspoon black sesame seeds for garnish

How

    Combine the banana, chia seeds, cacao powder, and soy milk in a blender or a tall glass suitable for a hand mixer.

    Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency.

    Transfer the mixture to a glass or bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of 20 minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb the liquid. For the best results, leave the pudding to chill overnight. If you're in a hurry, 2 hours will suffice, although the pudding may be less firm.

    Remove the pudding from the fridge and top it with small banana cubes and a sprinkle of black sesame seeds. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks

  • Always soak chia seeds before consuming them. They can expand up to 16 times their size, which might pose a choking risk or discomfort if eaten dry.
  • Limit your daily chia seed intake to a maximum of 2 tablespoons. Excessive consumption can lead to digestive problems for some individuals.
  • Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and dietary fiber.
