6 tablespoons of homemade hummus (use less if its store bought since the taste is more intens and the salt level is higher)
3
1 avocado
4
1 spring onion
5
200 grams tofu
6
1 tablespoon flour
7
1 teaspoon smoked paprika powder
8
1 teaspoon garlic powder
9
1 teaspoon white pepper
10
1 teaspoon salt
11
50 grams oats (4-5 tablespoons)
12
1-2 tablespoons water
How
1
Begin by slicing the tofu into rectangular strips for more surface area to coat with spices, enhancing the flavor.
2
In a separate bowl, mix together dry ingredients: flour, smoked paprika, garlic, white pepper, and salt.
3
Gradually add 1-2 tablespoons of water to the dry mix, ensuring it's moist enough for oats to adhere, yet not too wet to prevent spice adherence to the tofu.
4
In a different bowl, have the oats ready.
5
Dredge each tofu strip in the flour mixture, followed by a coating of oats. Set aside and repeat for all tofu pieces.
6
Heat a pan with neutral oil over medium heat, then add the tofu once hot.
7
Cook tofu until golden, around 10 minutes, adjusting based on your pan's heat.
8
If needed, drain excess oil from tofu on a kitchen towel.
9
Slice two thick pieces of bread, and generously spread hummus over each.
10
Layer avocado slices atop the hummus.
11
Arrange the crunchy tofu pieces over the avocado.
12
Garnish with green onions and a drizzle of sriracha for a spicy finish.
